He went back to Colorado and my Dad played with it a bit and he bought one. The other one got way too hot, cost more and was shipped without Works as advertized and customer service to try to get it from the manufacturer sucked!! My brother came to visit and played with my Acer just a bit and decided that he would get one and he did. Anyway, had both for about a week and sent the first one packing back to the place that sent it and kept the Acer. Went to a major retail store and found one by another brand and it was cheaper and it was purple. I traded it for a car.i should have kept this.īought a netbook after seeing it demonstrated on TV. It didn't speed the machine up, but it didn't slow down at all when i had a million firefox tabs open. The last hint is that what really makes this thing even more capable is if you double the ram. If you spend hundreds of dollars on just being able to check your email and surf the web, then go on ebay and buy some $40 laptop from 6 or more years ago. It was better than for just surfing the web and writing emails. I could also play a lot of other games on here. I could reasonably encode video and audio.
#ACER ASPIRE ONE ULTRATHIN 101 DRIVERS 720P#
It does play older games like quake 3 and star craft just fine, i could even play 720p video on it (it'll only do it if the hd video is encoded in mpeg4), i could even run a guest operating system on this thing (this was slow, but i could do it), it is 64 bit capable (i installed 64 bit debian on here). Anyway, it features a keyboard 92% the size of a normal keyboard, the screen isn't too small, and man, i could make this little baby do things. If you like typing with ease, you don't get the 8.9 inch version of this netbook. If you're smart, you pack light you don't get a full size laptop. When you're on the go all the time, you don't get a desktop.
